General/Summary: Your tires are popped, the whole police force is on your back, helicopters are buzzing around you like crazed wasps and for a moment you think the odds are against you. You bale out of the car at full speed and roll across the road, your’re still alive. The cops have opened fire now, taking cover behind their cars. Whipping out your mini gun you don’t even hear them scream. An evil grin spreads across your face as bodies are shredded apart and cars explode in a mess of charred metal.

This is Grand Theft Auto… Vice City! This is a game that will engross you in a living breathing world for hours. Anything you’ve ever wanted to do in real life but haven’t because of real life consequences, you can do in this game. Steal a station wagon with passangers in the passangers in the back screaming, crash into motorcyclists and watch their bodies spin through the air. Pull out a chainsaw and relive the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Heck, you can even take part in a motorcross race rings of fire and all. Become a pizza delivery boy, visit the mall and buy a nice suit and a hotdog, i’m not kidding you can do it all. This is what GTA3 should have been, this is a game that DMA design have crafted with the gamer in mind. This is Grand theft auto at its best. Experience it!

Gameplay: Did you like Grand Theft Auto 3? Did you like having the freedom to travel where you wanted to? Well Vice City is Grnad Theft Auto 3 just 20 times bigger and better. Vice City’s gameplay has not changed drastically from GTA3 but it has made significant improvements. The game is still played from a 3rd person perspective which works well. Tageting enemies is now a lot more fluid as the camera now moves to an over the shoulder view.

Also the game will now target enemies that are more of a threat than others so you won’t be caught randomly targeting an old woman while a thug is hacking away at you with a rocket launcher. Missions are now a lot more fun with bigger environments and crazy challenges, like stealing a tack being paraded down the road guraded by half the cities armed forces. Add to this more vehicles (including motorbikes and helicopters!), more missions, indoor environments and more killer weapons, you have a must buy title.

Graphics: WOW! The first time you loaded up GTA3 you probbly nearly wet your pants right. Vice City will make you drool like a starving puppy in fron of a pile of meat. Vice city is notably brighter than GTA3, which is nice and buildings are much more detailed. Vehicles now have real reflections and excellent damage graphics. Characters are also a lot more detailed and have a wider range of movements available to them. Indoor environments look stunning, sunsets, sunrises, the game will push your PS2 to its limits. This game is nice!

Sound: Sound in this game is good eneough to have created 8 albums for retail sale. Music is wonderfully selected from the 80’s (that’s right real artists), such as Micheal Jackson, Megadeath and even Black Sabbath. Whatever your tastes there will be a radio station for you, which also host hilarious adds and talkshows.

Environment sounds are very similar to GTA3, which isn’t a bad thing and pedestrians still say their quirky lines. But what really won me over was the voice acting of the main characters as unlike GTA3 your character actually talks. We’re talking hollywood quality voice acting here and it shows. This game is brilliant!

Does some interesting things with the RPG genre, as well as having all of the classic influences that keep console RPG players coming back.

Gameplay: For the most part, excellent. The game allows you to collect Djinn–small, pokemon-esque creatures (Gotta tell you, I’m a little tired of the “Gotta catch ‘em all” mentality) that can either be summoned in battle, or equipped on a character. Doing this not only changes your spell selection, but also your statistics. Since there are over 20 Djinn, this makes for more than enough possible combinations to delight role-playing fanatics. It may be a little too in-depth for the casual role-player.

There are also a few noteable changes from the traditional “Final Fantasy” RPG format. Firstly, a great deal of spells can be used outside of combat, and often must be used to solve puzzles in the game. Some such spells are “Move”, “Catch”, “Growth”, “Whirlwind”, and the intriguing “Mind Read”. Magic points are regenerated automatically by walking around–meaning that you can keep curing your characters up to full if you’re in a safe zone, but in dungeons, refilling your magic points puts you at risk for random encounters.

Combat in this game appears to be notably more difficult than in most more traditional RPGs. The enemies get tougher as you go up in levels, regardless of where you are–so there isn’t anywhere you can go to pick on weakling enemies without fear of retribution. The enemies do a lot of damage, and it’s a good thing your magic points are constantly regenerating, because you’ll go through a LOT of cure spells.

All in all, the gameplay is interesting and exciting. There are a few occasions when the dialogue drags on a little long, and there are often so many mazes and puzzles in the dungeons that you may find yourself longing for just a simple, straightforward dungeon–but for the most part very enjoyable.

Graphics: The graphics on this game are excellent. Easily superior to anything on the SNES. They don’t quite measure up to Final Fantasy VII, but they easily compete with the 2D PSX RPGs, like Saga Frontier and Legend of Mana. This is a very pretty game.

Sound: Mediocre. The sound effects are nothing special, and the music is appropriate, though it doesn’t have the staying power of some of the FF soundtracks. The characters do have chattery “voices” a la Shining Force, and those get incredibly annoying–fortunately, they’re easily deactivated in the “Settings” menu.

General/Summary: How did this TV series fail?
Come on, if Jessica Alba wearing tight, revealing clothes and using matrix ripped off martial art moves every week can’t get ratings, then this is a world I will never understand.I’m being sarcastic, but only a little. This was a fun show. I miss it, and I never miss canceled shows.
It was criminally negleted even though, strictly for its target audience, it was well done.
It wasn’t perfect, but it still delivered in a airheaded fun action movie kind of way. Yet no one cared.
And that kind of sums up this game. If you raised your nose to this show by not ‘getting it’, then you won’t ‘get’ this game either.
Talk about a game perfectly mirroring it’s license!
The fact that this game was released at Xmas, amid too many great games, doomed it to go unnoticed. And that’s not fair. Exactly like the show.
It has the stars doing thier own voices, a huge amount of fighting moves rivaled only by the Buffy game and a involving plot to fans of Dark Angel, along with its dry humor.
It’s not perfect. It is rough around the edges, but it’s still more fun than 95% of these action type games.
But I stress that this is the Xbox version. The PS2 version is awful. The Xbox is ten times better in every way, be it graphics, sound or controls.
If you’re a Dark Angel fan, this is a great farewell piece to the series. If not, rent it first, but don’t be suprised when it’s better than you were expecting.
$50 is steep, but when this drops to about $30 you’ll more than get your money’s worth.

Gameplay: Obviously, as this is Dark Angel, you are Max. The controls are a mix of many games. Like Final Fight mixed with some Max Payne and a bit of Metal Gear Solid on certain levels.
And the list of moves are impressive. If you played the Xbox Buffy game, remember how endless the amount of moves were you kept discovering in button combinations.
Rivaled a fighter in that extent, right? That’s Dark Angel perfect. And the controls are extremely responsive. No complaints, only compliments. Excellent controls. I’d grade it B+.

Graphics: This is the weak link. While still better than a PS2 game, this is not a beautiful game.
The textures can be weak in many areas, there’s no bump mapping and the framerate dropped once in a while when the screen got busy.
On the plus side, areas are very detailed and varied with good (not great) camera angles.
It’s no Buffy, but it’s not as horrible as magazine writers would have you believe. I’d grade it about a B-, maybe C+.

Sound: Sound is pretty good. The punching and kicking sounds sound as they should, the music is fine, if average background sound. (You know, techno.)
Sound bites on the enemy are annoying in that they tend to repeat themselves, though that’s a common game problem.
But Max’s quips are great. Some will even make you laugh. Too bad not as much effort was put to the bad guys script. Overall, I’d give it a C for sound. Very average, except for Jessica Alba. I’d give her a B+.

When it comes to producing games that are an absolute joy to play, no one can beat Blizzard’s portfolio (the Warcrafts, Starcraft, the Diablos). They’re one of the all-time greats.

Blizzard continued its unblemished streak of releasing top-quality games last year when it finally unleashed the exceptional Warcraft III. By infusing this sequel with a dramatic, well-developed story, great graphics, and brilliantly balanced units, Blizzard created one of the all-time great real-time strategy games. And this summer we’ll have a whole new reason to journey to the world of Azeroth when The Frozen Throne, the first expansion for Warcraft III, is released.

As you’d expect, Frozen Throne is set after the stunning conclusion of Warcraft III. However, instead of offering a simple continuation of that story, this add-on will actually present two different campaigns composed of 30 to 35 missions total — the same number of missions as in the original game.

The first campaign will feature the Humans, the Night Elves, and the Undead, with you playing out the story from all three sides. These three super-powers of Azeroth are in search of an artifact that will imbue its owner with tremendous power. As luck would have it, the artifact is hidden in a glacier where the evil Lich King is entombed. The exact details of the story are still a closely guarded secret, but we do know that it’ll involve one of the key figures in Warcraft III, the traitorous Arthas.

Throne’s second campaign will feature the Orcs, who don’t give a rat’s ass about what the other races are up to; it’ll chronicle their efforts to carve out a new existence and solidify their place on Azeroth. However, in a nice change of pace, this campaign may play more like Diablo than Warcraft III.

“Because of changes to the custom campaign editor, we’ll be able to link maps and the game will remember that you’ve cleared a level,” explains Blizzard Executive Producer Bill Roper. “And events in one level could trigger something to happen in another level.” Because of how the campaign is being designed, Throne may play more like an RPG, and it’ll have a sharper focus on the hero units.

NEW HEROES
Beyond the creation of the two new campaigns, the most notable new addition is the inclusion of a new Hero for each race.

The new Undead Hero, the Crypt Lord, is a larger iteration of the Crypt Fiend. The Crypt Lord can impale enemy units and then toss them into the air, which either kills or stuns them when they land. It can also summon Carrion Scarabs that are raised from fallen bodies and scurry about, attacking nearby enemy units.

The Night Elves’ new Hero is called Warden, and he’s a mobile, assassin-like character. His most impressive powers are Blink, which lets him teleport in and out of locations around the map, and a new attack called Fan of Knives. When activated, this attack unleashes a bunch of knives; if used in conjunction with Blink, you’ll be able to pop in, hit enemy units with your blades, and then teleport to safety. This hit-and-run tactic should be loads of fun.

Finally, the Humans will have access to the Blood Mage Hero unit. In addition to casting spells such as Flame Strike, a devastating fire attack, and Banish, which makes the targeted unit ethereal so it can’t attack or be attacked, the Blood Mage can construct the Ivory Tower. Just like the other towers in the game, the Ivory Tower can be upgraded, but its mobility means that the Humans will now be able to quickly construct a defensive line anywhere on the map.

REBALANCING THE FOUR SIDES
The introduction of the new Hero for each race is part of Blizzard’s concerted effort to keep balancing and tweaking how the game unfolds. As a result, several other new units and structures are being added to the game.

“We want to make units that complement the races,” says Roper about Throne’s new non-Hero units, “and introduce new strategies and alter the economy of the game.”

A good example of this focus is the Mountain Giants, a new unit that will be available to the Night Elves. As Roper is quick to point out, the Night Elves lacked a big bruiser in Warcraft III. The Mountain Giants now fill that role, and when used in conjunction with archers, they can be a potent fighting force.

Also, you’ll now be able to build merchants and even Neutral Heroes, who you’ll hire at the Tavern. These Heroes will take one of your available Hero slots, but each one of them will bring new abilities and powers. According to Roper, these Neutral Heroes are being included to give people more choices in how they want to play the game.

Battle.net is also being upgraded: Blizzard’s adding clan support, so you’ll be able to start a clan, recruit people, and even manage your own channel. A clan ladder will track the overall rating of your clan in comparison to the other clans in the game.

At press time, Blizzard is readying the beta of Frozen Throne, and we’ll be snagging it in short order. Watch for our hands-on report in a month or two.

— William Harms

The game turned out to be one of the better Game Boy games. It does not take much strategy though. The main objective in it is to go into a level and destroy the enemy tanks. Despite the “story” behind the game, its more attack, and it tries to have some romance behind it.

There are two modes of play in the game, story and battle mode. Story lets you go through the drama of the game and gives you insight of what the hero, Griffin, is doing. Battle mode lets you experience any level of battle that you choose, unlike Story mode that lets you play them in order.

There are 15 different zones, each with certain objectives, such as, destroy all enemy tanks, collect all coins and defeat certain tanks. The zones are categorized into five cites and three levels. The game does not let you start off from a saved point in the game, it has passwords for each level. Passwords are only for story mode. There are three different tanks in the game; Goliath tank, the big slow one with a lot of armor; M1A1 tank, average speed and good armor; Moto tank, fastest tank with light armor.

The game works on a skill level, easy medium or hard. The only true difference is the number of tanks per level. This can be found under the options panel in the beginning of the game, along with how to control it and to turn the music on or off.

The game play is easy to use, the music can get annoying after a while, the sound effects are ok and the graphics are what you would think for a game boy game, a little rough. The game kept me busy for a good few hours until I beat it. Its simple to use over all. The price of it was good for me I found it for $24.95. I recommend this for someone who likes the “destroy anything game”, and likes to find little tricks in the game.

This legal holiday always falls on the fourth Thursday in November, so Black Friday is the traditional family weekend and the start of the Christmas shopping season. Since most Americans on this day are on holidays, will be huge sales made in stores. Many shops and chain stores have opened in the early hours of the morning - usually by five clock - and many people at night to wait in long queues outside the shops to grab bargains to. During the day it is difficult to find a parking space at major malls.

Some offer consumers prices almost ‘gift’ for their products. So that buyers take the opportunity to purchase gifts at low prices. Stores that do not open during these days, making great deals to recoup losses and satisfy customers. It offers day, but also of long lines, waiting hours, stress and headaches, not counting fights that may lead to finding the perfect blouse in one size and with various compulsive buyers willing to fight. So many have chosen to shop via the Internet with Black Friday 2009 Online Deals.

Until the year 2010 arrives and with it the highly anticipated Gran Turismo 5, Polyphony Digital gives us a starter in a portable, thanks to Gran Turismo PSP, one of the launch titles for the new incarnation of the handheld console Sony PSP called Go, thanks to which it was possible for the first buyers to take home for free right to drive in this simulation we are talking today.

A series such as Gran Turismo will certainly not need any introduction, so was his success in past years since the launch of this mark occurred in the era of the first PlayStation to date, the Japanese developer of Polyphony can keep everyone glued to the monitor to any update on the fifth chapter, arriving in March 2010 on PS3.

As mentioned, however, marks the arrival of the 2009 GT on the PSP, taking advantage of the incident in recent days the headlines derived from PSPGo: it is permissible, therefore, expect a title in thickness, can not to regret the failure to arrive home dicembrino version thereby offering a product worthy of the expectations placed on each new chapter of the brand to which it belongs.

Between ads and articles, five years of development it took to take the series Gran Turismo on PSP, fueling more and more the expectations of fans of the series, especially after the disappointing announcement that GT5 would not arrive in stores until next year: GT PSP just to appease at least for the moment the pilot in all of us? Let’s find out the rest of the review.

In reality, unfortunately, is soon found to be GT PSP lacks some basic elements, even among those that have marked the series since its birth. The absence of a true single mode is definitely the main flaw of this title, not bearing the main reason that should lead the player to pull out your console in any free moment of the day: all this on balance is reduced only in opportunity to participate in any single race with multiple laps choosing whether or not to go round the circuit in one direction or against traffic, resulting in payment of credits to spend then buy new cars.

Despite good intentions, just need the skid and the races on time, if not to offer a few moments more fun soon ends to leave room for regret, whereas just described together with the lack re also seeing that of the tuning cars, heavily neutered compared to the GT series as we have become accustomed in the past when we could turn even a small car in a racing car from 300km / h (or almost).

A partially come to the rescue he found time to address a wide range of challenges that go to put the player in various situations, from the simplest consistent in having to restrain within certain limits to various situations between curves, bends and deception: who has already Having regard to the licensing systems in the past will know more or less what we’re talking about, with the ability to unlock different set of challenges starting from categories A and B up to the most difficult.

Drive, that passion

The most striking aspect of GT PSP is definitely established by the size of cars and tracks in the game, respectively 800 and well over 50, not all available from the outset and then to unlock with other issues such as the possibility of increasing the level difficulty of the game. Difficulties which initially appears quite simple, so the advice is to delete right now any kind of aid to you in making headway with its own forces.

The very model of leadership appears to be on balance the real protagonist of this game, based on a simple model perfect (no damage apart) that allows players to experience the differences that exist between each car, appreciating the different behaviors in various types of track that is faced, getting behaviors differ according to the car used.

Compared to the past, unfortunately, we note that even the store where to buy the cars has been revised with the introduction of calendar days in which to revolve alternately five different car manufacturers, thus making it necessary to wait until the following day when the machine you want to buy does not belong to one of the producers brought the game at that time.

Multiplayer and technical

The multiplayer mode does not cover the Internet gaming but only those made through wireless ad-hoc, which translates to the need to have friends “real” in possession of game consoles and can give rise to a few games against another being human, for a maximum of four simultaneously connected with each other. Surely even in this aspect of the game had expected more, with an online mode that certainly would have been much preferred by 99% of gamers GT PSP with perhaps a limit of up to four players.

Continuing technical discourse, we can say that defends GT PSP just fine thanks to its graphic engine, while maintaining virtually sets its 60 frames per second thus brings the experience of driving at optimum levels even from a visual standpoint, even if some shots leave something ‘to be desired: we are on a handheld console and do what we can, in fact. The sound does its full duty, and controls are fully reprogrammable by the player, something which I can recommend as the default at least for myself were not very comfortable.

Final Comment

Awaited by all fans of driving in possession of the PSP, Gran Turismo PSP comes with PSPGo not without a little disappointing for those expecting a complete game in every aspect, perhaps comparable to the full version of home. Faced with an excellent technical sector, covering both the look mechanics of driving, the game actually shows some shortcomings that affect significantly the longevity, but the huge amount of cars and tracks available will make sure the joy of all lovers of this genre.

The final impression, however, is that after five years of development, the title has come a bit ‘mutton in the market, perhaps motivated by the desire of developers and publishers to release it along with PSPGo. Waiting to finally see Gran Turismo 5 may still be considered as a (light) appetizer.
